The Chao Center manufactures and markets Seromycin®, a life-saving treatment for Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB).

The Chao Center was initiated through a generous donation from Dr. Allen Chao and his wife Lee Hwa-Chao, both alumni of the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Purdue University.

The facility was built using innovative design principles that allow maximum flexibility within the manufacturing suites. Visitors to Purdue University, the School of Pharmacy and prospective Purdue Research Park companies often tour the facility to learn about how it was designed.

The Chao Center is located in West Lafayette, Indiana, within the Purdue Research Park, and is owned by the Purdue Research Foundation.
